The story of our couple and ProPhoto by MK began at the Philadelphia Bridal Expo back in 2018. To give you some insights – its one of the largest wedding shows with about 2000 couples attending and nearly 300 vendors. It’s a constant flow of people in and out of the booth, paired with very little time to make a genuine connection. However, somehow against all the odds, Chris came to our booth, looked at our photographs and presentation…left and came back now with Megan, and we started this great conversation about their wedding day plans and dreams. We scheduled a consultation at our studio for a few months ahead, and fast forward to the wedding day, we arrived at this gorgeous place in the hills and mountains in Montville, NJ.
Choosing a date at the end of May was a great decision – you are almost guaranteed to have beautiful weather on your wedding. Combined with the location, Megan’s and Chris’ wedding just called for lots of environmental portraits and lots of scenery.
We have arrived to the Lake Valhalla Club, where girls were getting ready. Maria spent a few hours with Megan and her bride tribe at the suite. When Megan put on her dress, it was just incredible – the elegance and detail on the lace of her train were impeccable. Guys got their getting ready time with Vadim at the nearby hotel. Right before the ceremony, we took advantage of time, and did a lot of portraits with Megan and her family, as well as her girls.
The ceremony itself was so grand – it took place right by the lake, and guests enjoyed the scenery and being there for Megan and Chris when they exchanged vows and did a cord of three strands ceremony.
During cocktail hour, we had family and wedding party formals done inside the venue (it started to rain for a little bit). Once the rain stopped, Maria took the couple for portraits by the lake. Despite having just 15 minutes or so to work with them, we were able to get those beautiful and romantic photographs. Our personal favorite is Chris kissing Megan’s shoulder. It is such a sweet moment and shows their genuine and gentle love for each other.
This wedding day was complete with one of the most fun receptions. Chris and Megan had a rehearsed first dance and wowed the guests with some twirls, spins, and dips. Later in the night, there was not a single person sitting down; everyone was dancing and having a great time. It was a party of the year, and we were thrilled to be there to capture it.
